Novartis seeks a dynamic and experienced SSO Portfolio Team Lead (PTL) to join our dedicated team. This position reports directly to the SSO Portfolio Country Head and is responsible for the Clinical Project Managers (CPMs) and their study-specific activities, including hiring, training, development, and assignment to ensure adequate and timely portfolio execution. The SSO PTL ensures that CPMs coordinate their activities across all CRAs working on the same trials/projects in collaboration with CRA Managers / FSP line managers.
The PTL is responsible for overall portfolio execution performance (KPIs), ensuring study milestone deliverables are met in accordance with GCP, ICH, SOPs, and local regulations.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the SSO Leadership team to implement innovative practices and patient engagement tactics for advancing clinical trial planning, execution, and quality.
Identify and lead innovative solutions to enhance Project Management within the GDD portfolio in collaboration with Study & Site Operations country leadership.
Support the Country Portfolio Head in implementing the global strategy locally.
Work with SSO Feasibility Manager, SSO Site Partnership Manager, and others to develop opportunities for GDD trials' competitive advantage.
Ensure country study site selection, activation, enrollment, data flow, and timeline commitments are delivered as planned.
Ensure compliance with clinical data standards, legislation, GCP, Ethical Committees, and SOP requirements.
Manage hiring, training, development, and retention of Clinical Project Managers.
Oversee country study budgets and ensure timely achievement of study milestones.
Essential Requirements:
Scientific or healthcare degree with experience in clinical operations or project management.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in clinical research and/or project management with proven leadership capabilities.
Understanding of all aspects of clinical drug development, focusing on monitoring and trial execution.
Thorough knowledge of international drug development standards and health authority regulations.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent project management skills with problem-solving and mediation abilities.
Effective communication skills in a local/global matrix environment.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
