This global role requires a dynamic individual ready to travel and lead the deployment of cutting-edge automation solutions across our international network. The ideal candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset, demonstrate Bias for Action, and be prepared to lead complex software development and implementation for automation systems.Key responsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement software solutions for automation systemsLead global deployments of software projectsManage high-impact software releases to ensure minimal operational disruptionTrain and mentor engineering team membersDrive continuous improvement initiativesContribute to engineering reviews, impacting solutions for systems and architectureAnalyze system performance and provide optimization recommendationsBasic QualificationsBachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or equivalentNon-internship professional software/system development experienceExperience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, RubyExperience in systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvementPLC programmingPreferred QualificationsExperience with CODESYSExperience building tools for building, testing, releasing, or monitoringKnowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) new and existing systemsExperience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineeringAdditional RequirementsWillingness to travel up to 20% accordingly with business needsAbout the teamOur In-House Controls (IHC) team within World-Wide Central Engineering develops, deploys, and scales automated solutions globally. We deliver pioneering solutions that integrate seamlessly into existing and new facilities worldwide. IHC will develop and deploy the software for all future WW AMZL automation, from software design through to commissioning and deployment and operational on-call support.
