Your Role
The candidate will be the sourcing lead for a strategic wearable project at the heart of the collaboration between EssilorLuxottica and a major Big Tech company.
They will be involved from the development phase through to the mass production launch, and then manage the sustaining phase, overseeing sourcing activities across assigned categories (ME/EE/EM/Finished Products/JDM/ODM/CM/Display & Optics/Equipments).
The responsibilities include developing and executing all sourcing‑related activities to support product development, production ramp‑up, mass production, and business requirements, in alignment with the global sourcing wearable strategy and the partnering company’s requirements.
They will work cross‑functionally to build and develop a proper supplier base, improve supplier service and quality, and identify and execute cost‑reduction initiatives.
The candidate will be part of a multifunctional and international team supporting the development of an industrial facility and preparing it to produce a consumer electronics device with the right cost, supplier base and quality, respecting defined timelines. They will then support the mass production/sustaining phase to guarantee that the outsourcing flow meets cost, service, quality and sustainability objectives.
Main Responsibilities

Work with the global team to develop and execute sourcing strategy according to business strategy requirements.
Evaluate and introduce new suppliers.
Set up a global supplier base, ensuring competitive advantage, technical/quality requirements, service, and supply sustainability.
Coordinate purchasing activities across operations functions to guarantee an inventory that is cost‑effective and timely.
Sourcing industrial material categories, mechanical and electronics components, equipment, finished products, indirect materials for manufacturing, ensuring effective supply and services availability for operation and business growth.
Optimize supplier base, monitor performance, evaluate suppliers, and initiate supplier improvement programs.
Apply a total cost of ownership approach to guarantee the best competitive sourcing for the company.
Develop and implement cost‑reduction plans across categories.
Negotiate with local and global suppliers to achieve targeted commercial conditions.
Support cross‑functional projects to improve service, quality, NPI requirements and cost.
Provide reporting on sourcing, supply, spend and PPV reports.

Main Requirements

Educational background in engineering.
At least 5 years of experience in sourcing management in a multinational company.
Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
Solid experience with Office 365, MS Project, Google Docs.
Strong organizational and communication skills.Scientific approach.
Good knowledge of finance and contract management is advantageous.
Excellent relationship and influencing skills.
Fluent in English.
Availability to travel across Italy, Europe, the US and Asia.
Previous experience in consumer electronics multinational companies.
