OverviewSenior Software Development Engineer - AWS Identity and Access Management. The AWS Identity team builds, operates, and innovates the identity, authentication, and authorization stack for the AWS cloud. Our mission is to push technical boundaries to enable customers to run their business workloads confidently and securely, by enabling appropriate access controls across AWS environments. We are seeking a software developer to build solutions on a global scale, own systems end to end, and influence technology used by AWS services around the world. You will drive mission critical projects, work with senior and principal engineers, and mentor more junior team members.ResponsibilitiesCreate and collaborate in the design, implementation, and deployment of systems and servicesWork and grow with talented teams delivering impactful projectsFunctionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions while understanding system interdependencies and limitationsShare knowledge of effective performance, scalability, architecture, and engineering patterns and methodsAdditional context: AWS has a broad set of services and features across infrastructure, machine learning, data analytics, IoT, and more. AWS emphasizes inclusion through employee-led affinity groups and learning experiences.QualificationsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience5+ years of programming experience in at least one programming language5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling)Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering teamPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of full software development life cycle experience (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations)Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalentEqual opportunity employer statement and accommodations information are available as part of the application process.
