Amazon.com seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to drive the financial strategy for Sponsored Brands. The role involves providing financial partnership to support growth of existing business and development of new products and strategies.
The Role
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will closely work with business and finance leaders to develop financial models for short‑ and long‑term business and financial goals, evaluate new business opportunities, and drive business initiatives for projects with strategic significance and high exposure. This high‑visibility role requires weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting of financial performance and ad‑hoc business analysis support. You will work across multiple teams in Amazon and will be a self‑starter with strong financial modeling abilities, problem‑solving skills, keen attention to detail, and the capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment.
Key Job Responsibilities
Assist in the development of advertising products by evaluating the business, understanding customer needs and value drivers, and crafting high‑impact growth strategies.
Partner with product teams to anticipate business requirements, trends, and variances; develop action plans; measure and analyze results; identify and drive growth and improvement opportunities.
Manage financial and operational performance metrics for the business (e.g., Weekly Business Reviews).
Uphold and enforce an environment of ethical practices and strong financial controllership.
Participate in high‑ambiguity projects with broad scope, focusing on strategic significance and high exposure.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analysis.
4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance or business tools and processes.
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in the lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in the highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
