Requirements
Must satisfactorily complete a background investigation (NACI).
Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
Work schedule is subject to change and may include working evenings, weekends, holidays, as well as split days off.
Will be required to obtain Emergency First Responder or CPR/First Aid/AED certification, Customer Service Training, and MWR Food and Beverage Alcohol Safety Certification within the first 60 days of employment.
Male candidates born after December 31, 1959, and at least 18 years of age, are required to certify that they have registered with the Selective Service System (attach proof of registration).
Candidates must possess a No-Fee government passport, Italian mission visa, Sponsor's Orders, and Sojourner's permit or application letter.
Qualifications
Qualification Requirements: Six (6) months of general experience and six (6) months of specialized experience in Fitness at the NF-01 level or equivalent OR two (2) years of education above high school that included at least 12 semester hours in courses related to recreation/physical education or related.
General experience: Any work demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience: Experience at the NF-01 level (or equivalent) related to the work of this position.
Applicants must attach copies of transcripts, certificates, or other acceptable evidence to receive credit for education.
Qualified candidates will be evaluated based on the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (K.S.A.):
Knowledge of methods involved in various types of fitness or sports activities.
Practical knowledge of exercise science, physical fitness, or related fields.
Knowledge of cardiovascular risk factors, weight loss, nutritional habits, and proper biomechanical techniques.
Skill in instructing proper use of exercise equipment.
Ability to maintain records and reports.
Ability to deal effectively with others.
Ability to handle emergency situations.
Education
If you wish to substitute education for experience or combine both, attach relevant transcripts or certificates. Foreign college transcripts must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency by a credentialing agency. Applicants are responsible for the costs associated with credential evaluation.
