The Data Center & Energy BU is seeking an experienced Analog Integrated Circuit Design Engineer to work on developing switching power supply ICs for datacenter and communication markets, leading innovation from concept to implementation. The Data Center & Energy BU mission is to define, design and manufacture leading edge monolithic Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) products in BCD technology, such us:
Integrated power stages up to 100A delivered current for multiphase SMPS for server and AI.
16V to sub-1V step down PoL with integrated Power Stage and PMBus for server, network and communication.
Responsibilities
Work within an analog/mixed-signal design team based in Catania or Milan, and other locations worldwide.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, implement and introduce products to customers. Teams include business, applications, product definition, product engineering, layout, test engineering, project management, CAD/EDA, etc.
Lead medium and high-complexity ICs from architecture selection to implementation and debugging, managing analog and digital teams.
Perform mixed-mode IC top-level/block design, transistor-level circuit design and simulation.
Use recommended design and verification techniques, tools & flows to produce efficient designs meeting specifications.
Integrate blocks into larger mixed-signal systems successfully.
Support layout, application and test to ensure successful delivery and all requirements are met.
Perform hands-on evaluation of ICs in the lab.
Requirements
Master's degree in electronic engineering and 10+ years' experience as analog circuit designer.
Strong fundamentals in analog and mixed-signal design, tools and flows.
Design experience with amplifiers, DACs, ADCs, bandgaps, bias circuits, LDOs, and switching power supply circuits.
Experience in leading complex and large Mixed-Signal ICs.
Good understanding of power supply control architectures.
Knowledge of BCD process technologies.
Understand digital IC design and physical phenomena such as latch-up, HCI degradation, and other reliability issues.
Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to take ownership of top-level subsystems and integration in the mixed-signal environment.
Travel to support product definition should be expected.
Good level of understanding of the English language, both written and spoken.
Key Words: semiconductor devices, power MOSFETS, DC-DC converters, LDO, SMPS, peak current mode control, gate drivers, high efficiency.
