Position Description
Valiant is seeking skilled Linguists to provide interpretation, transcription, and translation services in support of ongoing and new operations and mission requirements.
Location: Various locations
Responsibilities:
Conduct accurate and consecutive translation, transcription, and interpretation in Greek/Turkish into EnglishTranslate various syntax and expressions to include colloquial and slang phrases from English to Greek/Turkish and vice versaWork and travel in austere environmentsProvide advice on cultural and ethnic significance of statements, conversations, situations, and documentsAccurately scan, research, and analyze foreign language documentsOther related tasks as assigned
Position Requirements
Must have a proficiency in Greek/Turkish and English speaking and writing Level 3/3 of Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) - Native proficiency preferredExtensive knowledge of Greek/Turkish culture with previous work in the region - Native familiarity preferredExperience interpreting and translating Greek/Turkish into EnglishAbility to understand the essentials of all speech in standard dialect and vocabulary, rarely requiring paraphrasing or explanationFamiliarity with the local culture and customs with the ability to operate within the local populace
