The Structural Heart division is at the forefront of innovation in the field of cardiovascular care, focusing on a comprehensive portfolio of life‑changing technologies. Abbott is committed to transforming the treatment landscape for patients with structural heart disease through its robust array of therapies such as Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Interventions (TMTI), Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), and solutions for stroke risk reduction and congenital heart disease and surgical heart valves. This division has been a key revenue driver in the EMEA region, with its continuous double‑digit growth since 2017. The Structural Heart division not only includes cutting‑edge technologies but also maintains focus on traditional areas like mitral valve repair and congenital heart disease. This diverse approach ensures continued attention to profitability and market share, reinforcing Abbott's role as a leader in cardiovascular solutions.This General Manager position is responsible for leading the organization’s strategic direction and financial performance in Italy for the Structural Heart Division across all its franchises (Mitraclip, Triclip, TAVR, Tendyne, Structural Intervention, Cardiac Surgery). It oversees sales operations and marketing execution to drive growth and market success. Ensures business activities align with corporate policies while adhering to local legal, regulatory, and cultural standards. Collaborates closely with finance, regulatory/quality, clinical, HR, communications, legal, and IT teams to support seamless operations and strategic objectives.Main ResponsibilitiesDeliver Results – Set targets and actionable commitments to achieve business objectives and deliver outstanding financial results. Manage sales, marketing, operational and support functions (directly and through a matrixed workforce). Deliver on financial goals (eg. sales, margin, revenue, market share) and any other KPIs.Market Focus – Actively engage and influence the external market with advocacy, communications, awareness and early adoption for the full portfolio of solutions. Identify the competition and industry and regulatory context. Innovate and lead new product launch strategies, go‑to‑market plans, adoptions, enablement, positioning and adequate pricing. Leverage market research insights to shape relevant transformation strategies.Financial Management – Execute a disciplined financial plan, operating model and cost structure. Track and forecast the budget, revenues, client mix, and other key business drivers. Manage profit and loss elements for the Structural Heart division and produce the financial plan aligned to the national strategy. Connect the financial results to the broader group strategy and Enterprise value proposition.Strategic Development and Execution – Translate the objectives to actionable short‑term plans, programmes, and engagement with the entire portfolio. Mobilise the talent to prioritize resource to accelerate the execution of the national strategic plan, including the delivery of credible evidence, commercial capability, and market traction. Deliver an experience that propels brand advantage and further authorisation for each solution.International and External Stakeholder Management – Engage and develop the perception of Abbott and your strategy for organisational alignment with relevant external stakeholders. Facilitate communication, connections and reporting between internal teams and with key external stakeholders.Talent Management – Build, nurture and develop high‑performing teams. Assess and develop people for business growth, incentivise and create a growth culture. Create and maintain a structured talent development roadmap that stimulates high level engagement and learning.Compliance and Governance – Ensure that all activities are compliant with Italian laws and regulations and that operational processes meet quality and regulatory standards.Innovation and Digital Enablement – Lead and manage the adoption of new technology, digital tools, and data‑driven decision making across the organization.Education & KnowledgeMBA in Business or Science or equivalent15 years + experience in commercial leadership roleFamiliar with medical device field, and Italy market landscapeProven experience in business growth acceleration and turnaroundExcellent people development abilitiesRequired CompetenciesDeliver Results – Strong results orientation, drive the team's focus and execution.
