OverviewAbout Vicor: Vicor Corporation designs, manufactures and markets modular power components and complete power systems used in the aerospace and defense electronics, enterprise and high performance computing, industrial equipment and automation, telecommunications and network infrastructure, and vehicles and transportation markets. Vicor is expanding its footprint in the Automotive Industry, pursuing parity with mild hybrid, EV / HEV and autonomous vehicle programs, and developing opportunities with tier ones and OEMs using high voltage to 48 volt architectures and 48 V to 12 V systems to achieve higher efficiency, high power density, lower overall cost, lighter weight and higher performing vehicles. Position: The main responsibility of the FAE position is to proactively support Vicor power solutions into various market opportunities including Automotive, Industrial, Aerospace & Defense, and High Performance Computing. This involves coordination with Business Development Managers, Account Managers, and Internal Business Partners while providing pre- and post-Sales technical support including product selection based on the customer’s application needs, product introduction and DIN assistance from an electrical, mechanical and thermal aspect, and troubleshooting customer systems if required.ResponsibilitiesArticulate technology, power architectures, and product positioning to both business and technical usersBusiness / Relationship development focused on Direct – business development with customers and their technical communityDistribution – business development with channel partners at target accountsCapture technical requirements and architecture of a customer’s system and act as liaison to Product Line EngineersEstablish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle with the customer engineering staffSchematic review and project support on existing customer programsCoverage of incoming customer phone and e-mail technical inquiriesRegular customer visits requiring 30–50% travelPrepare content and conduct technical seminars and conferencesProvide product training to selected customers across the various segmentsAssist with hands-on product evaluations in local labEnable Channel Demand Creation supporting the respective organization by technically qualifying new opportunities and helping increase the conversion rate from New Design identified to Design WinSupporting customers and channel customers on technical issuesVisiting channel customers for application engineering supportVisiting Distribution Branch Offices for technical product trainings / presentationsQualifications, Experience and AttributesBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, minimum 5 years related experience in either analog / power supply design or analog-based applications engineeringAutomotive market experience desiredCapable Electronics Technician skillsGood understanding of analog circuit designsSolid written / verbal communication skillsFirst experience in dealing with distribution partnersSelf-motivated, hardworking, results oriented, problem solver focused on driving businessStrong interpersonal skills, ability to present to audiencesBalance between short-term achievement and long-term developmentBusiness acumenFluent in written and spoken English and ItalianComputer literate including CRM system knowledge (Salesforce)Full clean driving license
