OverviewAmazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Data Center Security Manager (DSM) for our Milan-area data centers. This role leads physical security operations across multiple sites, reporting directly to the Cluster Security Manager. We maintain the foundation of AWS cloud services, ensuring continuous availability of computing resources for our customers worldwide. The ideal candidate will combine security operations expertise with strong leadership abilities. We offer comprehensive professional development opportunities and the chance to shape the security of one of the world's largest cloud providers.Key job responsibilitiesSecurity Operations ManagementManage on-site physical security operations for Data CentersOversee access control systems, guard force operations, and vendor contractsConduct risk assessments, security audits, and incident reportingGenerate and analyze security metricsImplement and maintain CCTV monitoring systems and media security protocolsEnsure protection of customer data through robust security measuresProcess and Policy ManagementImplement new security processes while maintaining compliance with Amazon policiesDevelop and execute security plans for special eventsCreate evacuation procedures and emergency response protocolsEstablish benchmarks for security performanceDesign customized policies to meet internal and external regulationsRelationship ManagementBuild and maintain partnerships with internal teams (DC Engineering, DC Operations)Coordinate with external partners (Vendors, Emergency Services)Supervise security contractors and monitor their performanceCollaborate with global security teamsProject ManagementDeliver security projects within specified timelines and budgetsProvide regular status updates to stakeholdersIdentify and address safety and security deficienciesConduct data analysis to support risk assessmentsTravel to other geographic regions as requiredQualifications & RequirementsLegal & Investigative Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of investigative laws and practices; experience conducting security investigations; understanding of workplace safety regulations and complianceTechnical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of security technology, including access control systems, CCTV operations, identification systems, and special security applicationsProfessional Certifications: Relevant security industry certifications; additional safety or security credentialsManagement Experience: Proven vendor management experience; demonstrated decision-making abilities in complex situationsTechnical Skills: Proficiency with data gathering and analysis tools; ability to quickly adapt to new company systemsLanguage & Communication: Corporate/DC security experience with a global company; experience writing and publishing security standardsTechnical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of physical security systems and componentsEqual opportunity and privacyAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
