AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to help deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of the data center’s critical physical infrastructure.
Manage teams of 24x7 engineering technicians and prioritize, coach, and document tasks.
Engage in improvement projects from conception to completion.
Coordinate daily with third‑party vendors to ensure adherence to contracted SLAs.
Effectively manage the operations budget and expenditures.
Respond to after‑hours emergencies and manage investigations, mitigation, and recovery.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
5+ years in a management position with 5 or more direct reports.
5+ years in data centers with emphasis on building and equipment operation.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of critical data center electrical and mechanical systems.
Experience in people management and team development.
Experience in problem solving and root cause analysis.
Experience maintaining SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting.
