Data Center Engineering Operations TechnicianJob ID: 3110703 | Amazon Data Services, Inc.A key part of AWS’s Data Center Infrastructure Services, the Engineering Operations team maintains critical infrastructure systems to support 24/7 reliability at some of the world’s most powerful data centers. As an Engineering Operations Technician (EOT), you will monitor building systems, troubleshoot equipment, install and decommission racks, and support the continuous improvement of data center operations.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily building rounds to monitor and record electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).Troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).Perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA.Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.Write technical documentation to support change management program.Manage daily work requests, execute projects from conception to completion.On‑site support of contractors, sub‑contractors, and vendors, ensuring all work complies with established practices, procedures, and local legislation.Work schedule may include up to 12‑hour shifts, rotation, on‑call rotations, and support for multiple locations/sites.Physical RequirementsWork in conditions requiring your ability to:Lift and/or move up to 39 pounds independently and participate in group lifts of 40+ pounds.Balance and perform construction tasks while on a ladder.Walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb stairs, twist, bend, work above shoulders, grasp, carry, push and pull objects into position.Use ear protection in a noisy environment.Basic Qualifications2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, or fire system experience in mission‑critical infrastructure or equivalent industry experience.2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred Qualifications4+ years of Data Center Engineering experience.Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.Additional InformationAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
