Workshop Engineer – Turbocharger Specialist

Position Location
Genova, Italy.
Responsibilities
Willingness and ability to go onboard vessels to perform assembly and disassembly of turbochargers.
Operating workshop equipment and tools effectively and safely.
Reading and interpreting technical drawings.
Performing field and workshop assignments as required.
Issuing work reports and recording measurements and data.
Using and maintaining workshop tools in accordance with good mechanical practices.
Adhering to all regulations, policies, work procedures, and safety instructions.
Acting as a team player to achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a mechanical workshop.
A technical high school diploma in mechanics, mechatronics, marine, or industrial machinery, or related field.
Good knowledge of turbocharger systems and their operation, with practical hands‑on experience.
Familiarity with turbocharger overhaul processes and related equipment.
Proficiency in using measuring tools (metric and standard) and specialty instruments.
Knowledge and experience with workshop and field service tools, including first‑grade maintenance capability for tools.
Good written and spoken English skills.
Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
Nice‑to‑Have
A trades qualification certificate in turbocharger maintenance and repair from a recognised institution, or equivalent hands‑on training and experience.
Knowledge of lean principles.
Strong communication and time management skills.
Excellent problem‑solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
The ability to work under pressure and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
A team‑oriented mindset and the ability to contribute effectively to group goals.
