We were meant to fly.As Value Stream Quality Leader you will ensure that deliveries are consistently meeting all customers’ quality and regulatory requirements and lead preventive enhancement initiatives. You will coordinate a crew of quality engineers and directly report to the Product Quality Leader of Combustors & Structures CoE. Job DescriptionManage staff performance, identifying training and development needs, recognizing high personal performance and reward accomplishmentsAllocate priorities to staff and execute comprehensive reports about team performance, mission-related objectives, safety practices and deadlines to stakeholdersEnsure with ownership, discipline and integrity the full adherence to procedures / policies, supporting the execution of the given strategies and targetsBe the first line of assistance to customers and lead the organization in the resolution of any customer quality concerns. Monitor customer score cards and plan preventive actions against disruptionsPartner with customer to anticipate volume growth and changing landscape for quality requirements and improvementsRegular daily shop management of Quality KPI’s through standard work (e.g. customer disruptions PDCA, losses / defects preventive initiatives, quarantine reduction, PQA risk mitigation, router compliance, etc)Lead product certification compliance process to customer requirementsLead problem-solving events to contain internal scraps and customer escapes, find root cause and corrective action, make the risk assessment and standardize through the Lesson Learnt / FMEAStop off the production in the event of uncontained manufacturing off-spec partsBe an active member of the Hoshin Kanri initiatives and Lean development (e.g. re-layout, 5S, material flow improvement, etc)Proactively liaise with the related business stakeholders to the development of in-process inspectionLead risk assessment (e.g. PFMEA, PQA, etc) to ensure the compliance to product / process / system quality requirementsBe an active member of NPI activities (e.g. customer requirements flow down, FMEA, leverage lessons learnt, etc)Lead the implementation of digital tools (e.g. pQN, Digital Stamping, QcCalc, XDNC, etc)Deployment through Yokoten of Lessons Learnt from established successful preventive actionsQualifications / RequirementsMaster’s Degree in Engineering field, preferably in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical EngineeringKnowledge of aerospace standards and customers’ specific requirementsKnowledge of materials used for the aerospace industryProven track record of all quality tools (e.g. DMAIC, PDCA, Ishikawa diagram, APQP, SPC, MSA, etc.)Proven track record in driving quality assurance and control in a complex manufacturing environmentBackground in GD&TWillingness to travel abroad, if requiredFluent Italian and EnglishWork Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is requiredDesired CharacteristicsMechanical aptitude (e.g. understanding of mechanical processesAbility to inspire others and to manage conflictsOrganization & planning : manage time wisely and effectively prioritize multiple competing tasksProblem solving & decision making : identify and solve problems, develop innovative solutions, act decisively, and show good judgment.
