What You'll Do
Test Engineer HVL, you will be responsible for testing HVDC cables and managing test programs from start to finish. Your main responsibilities will include:
Program and Team Management: Identify equipment needs, manage a team of operators and technicians, and ensure successful execution of customer test programs. You\'ll act as the key point of contact for customer representatives.
Technical Planning: Prepare circuits, procedural sequences, and measurement systems based on industry standards and customer test plans. You will also review customer quotes to ensure technical requirements and facility capabilities are aligned.
Safety and Quality Assurance: Ensure strict adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) and Quality Management programs during every phase of the test program.
Execution and Reporting: Oversee the preparation and execution of test programs, provide technical direction to the operations team. You will analyze results, prepare comprehensive written reports, and review findings with customers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all standards.
Continuous Improvement: Assist in developing new and improved test procedures, operational processes, and training curricula to enhance our testing capabilities.
Knowledge and Compliance: Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of applicable ANSI, IEEE, IEC, UL, and other standards for electrical and mechanical equipment.
What You\'ll Bring
We\'re looking for a professional who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent interpersonal skills. Your key qualifications and experience should include:
Education: A degree in Electrical Engineering or strong technical background.
Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience with the principles of power generation, transmission, and distribution. Experience in a laboratory setting, with knowledge of HVDC and HVAC cables and accessories, is a strong plus.
Technical Skills: A solid combination of theoretical knowledge and practical application in a laboratory environment.
Communication: The ability to convey technical knowledge to customers in a clear and professional manner. Excellent written and verbal command of English is required, with native Italian preferred. Knowledge of German is a plus.
Soft Skills: Strong leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal skills, and a flexible attitude towards working hours (willingness to work shifts and overtime). The ability to manage multiple tests at once is highly valued.
