Telecommunication Engineers
Location: Livorno, Italy
Type: Permanent/Contract
Start Date: Immediate
Our Client is looking for Telecommunication Engineers to work in their Research and Development Department, which is actively involved in the field of optical communications for satellite applications, in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Italian Space Agency (ASI). The candidates will support the design, realisation and operation of a new test‑facility aiming at assessing and certifying the interoperability of Optical Communication Terminal Payloads.
Responsibilities
Participating in design and validation of test‑benches for free‑space optical communication systems and devices operating at very high bit‑rates (> 100 Gb/s)
Conduct test‑campaigns following relevant standards
Active participation in international standardisation committees
Qualifications And Experience
Strong passion for the development of new technologies
Degree in Telecommunication Engineering
Basic knowledge of tests and measurement practices for signal integrity analysis, assessment of transmission systems and telecom opto‑electronic devices
Knowledge of automation/data analysis software environment (LabView, Python, C)
PhD in relevant fields is appreciated, but not mandatory
“Problem Solving” attitude, autonomy and “pro‑activity”
Willingness to learn new tools and methodologies
Location
These are full time permanent positions in Livorno, Italy. There is an option for these to be contract positions.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold all appropriate documentation and permits to work in the EU.
