Mechanical / Naval Engineer – Technical Department

Italian maritime company operating mainly in national ports is seeking a Mechanical or Naval Engineer to support the technical management of its fleet of harbour and deep-sea tugboats (azimuth and rudder tug).
Main Responsibilities

Technical management of vessels and onboard systems
Supervision of maintenance, repairs, and dry‑docking
Monitoring engines, propulsion systems, and machinery
Ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and class requirements
Collaboration with crew, suppliers, shipyards, and classification societies

Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture / Marine Engineering or experience as Chief Engineer on tugboats
3 years of maritime engineering experience
Strong knowledge of propulsion and diesel engine systems
Italian language knowledge at minimum B2 level
Fluency in English
Willingness to relocate to Livorno and travel when required even on short notice
Valid residence permit allowing work and travel within Europe

Conditions

Salary: €3,000 net per month
