Job Description
As a Technical Product Owner, you’ll operate at the intersection of engineering teams, ensuring that different products and systems come together into seamless, valuable solutions for customers. You’ll manage the roadmap and backlog, but also dive into the details of systems, integrations, and technical trade-offs. You’ll be a partner to architects and engineers, helping align product goals with technical feasibility, and ensuring that business stakeholders understand the impact of technical decisions.
Responsibilities
Manage the team’s roadmap and product backlog, ensuring items are prioritised, estimated, and ready for delivery.
Break down product requirements into epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria, including functional and non-functional requirements.
Collaborate closely with engineering and architecture on design decisions, trade offs, scalability, and performance considerations.
Provide product context and decision‑making support in agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement and sprint planning.
Ensure technical debt, platform improvements, and refactoring needs are visible and prioritised alongside new feature development.
Translate technical concepts into technical requirements for the development team.
Support program managers in managing dependencies and blockers to ensure timely delivery.
Communicate roadmap, progress, and technical decisions clearly and regularly to stakeholders.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a product ownership or product management role, in a technical environment.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
Proven ability to engage in discussions around APIs, data models, integrations, and system architecture.
Excellent communication skills; able to switch between technical and non‑technical language depending on the audience.
Analytical mindset and customer‑centric approach.
Nice to Have
Hands‑on technical experience.
Familiarity with DevOps practices.
Background in software engineering or computer science.
