The Tax Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating tax compliance and advisory services provided to clients. This includes supervising staff, developing tax strategies, and maintaining client relationships to ensure the firm's reputation for providing exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance and Planning
Manage and coordinate the delivery of tax services to clients.
Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize client tax liabilities.
Review complex individual and corporate tax returns prepared by the team.
Client Management
Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
Serve as a client point of contact on all tax-related matters.
Provide clients with innovative and practical tax solutions.
Lead, mentor, and develop the tax team.
Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Ensure efficient workflow and resource allocation within the team.
Research and Advisory
Stay updated on the latest tax regulations and industry trends.
Conduct tax research and provide technical expertise on complex tax issues.
Advise clients on tax implications of business investments and transactions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Master’s in Accounting
Master’s in Taxation is a plus.
CPA certification required.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Education

Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field.
Masters or better in Accounting or related field.

Experience

2 years: Reviewing tax returns and compiled financial statements with a public CPA firm
3 years: Preparing tax returns

Licenses & Certifications

Georgia CPA License
