Black Diamond Group’s Finance & Accounting department has a full-time position for Tax Analyst - US. This role is hybrid ‒ in-office with 20% flexibility to work from home. Reporting to the General Manager, Tax, this role is responsible for tax compliance and tax accounting for the US operations within the organization.ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with multiple other finance functions, collect data necessary to prepare and maintain the income tax working papers and related analyses for U.S. federal and state income tax returns and formsPrepare U.S income tax extensions and instalment calculations, and coordinate payments to relevant tax authoritiesAssist with the financial statement processes and the related deferred income tax provision, including assisting with calculating the deferred income tax provision for the US business unitsAssist in U.S. income tax audit defense, including with the preparation of responses to federal and state income tax auditsAssist in the management and implementation of the Black Diamond Group’s transfer pricing policies, including assisting with the drafting of the related contemporaneous documentationPart of the Black Diamond Group’s growth strategy has historically included M&A activity, this role will assist in any M&A planning, including financing and structuring, as well as participate in the tax due diligence procedures to the extent the U.S. jurisdiction is involvedPrepare monthly account reconciliations for U.S. income tax accountsCorrespond with various U.S. tax authorities as well as responding to tax notices receivedPlay a key role in the implementation of process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency in tax processesPerform other duties and projects as assigned by the General Manager, Tax, including other ad‑hoc research and analytics as required for U.S. operations, and assisting with drafting internal memos/communications supporting tax positions takenHelp the tax function manage the general tax inbox and the related tax requests that ariseLiaise with third‑party tax advisors in relation to the above‑mentioned duties and responsibilitiesBuild and maintain successful internal and external relationships with all U.S. external stakeholders including outside advisors, external auditors, governmental tax auditors, and tax associations, as well as other internal team members and business functionsQualificationsOver 7 years of relevant tax‑related experienceExperience in SAP Business One, Oracle NetSuite and / or TaxPrep is considered an assetStrong computer and data analysis skills including intermediate Excel skills (using pivot tables, basic charts / formula)High attention to detail and strong commitment to ensure deadlines are metStrong analytical skills and takes initiative to solve problemsAbility to work independently while supporting the larger finance and accounting teamWorks well under pressure with multiple concurrent deadlinesExcellent written and oral communication skills, capable of professional interaction with various levels of operations and external business partners
