Italy is the Group’s Competence center for the design, production and delivery of Navigation Aids products and Competence Centre for the delivery of non-Radar Surveillance Products.We are currently looking for a System IVVQ engineer to join Thales Land and Air Systems in its NAS Center of Competence Gorgonzola (near Milan).ResponsibilitiesSupport the IVVQ Manager in the definition of IVVQ strategy and generation of associated estimates and schedulePropose IVVQ testing methods, acceptance criteria and manage their implementationClear and timely communication of design non-compliances to the team and wider internal/external stakeholders. Be part of technical event (problem report…) boardPrepare System IVVQ activitiesExecute IVVQ activities either on-site at Gorgonzola or at the customer’s premises to deliver the evidence of compliance with requirementsAnalyse test results and/or data and produce technical reportsHighlight any technical risk associated with the IVVQ phase to the Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM) and Product Design Authority (PDA), proposing any suitable actions to mitigate and manage IVVQ risksLiaise with the PDA and Architect to ensure that IVVQ is in line with the design and is compliant with all requirementsSupport capitalisation activities for the department as well as lessons learnedEnsure unambiguous testability of requirementsProfile / QualificationsYou graduated from an Engineering School with a Master’s degree and you have 2 or more years’ experience in IVVQYou have a good understanding of IVVQ strategies and philosophiesYou have experience of test activities, formal verification or validation activitiesYou are an effective team player who can interface at all levels across the organizationYou are able to operate successfully in a multi-cultural environment, working effectively with teams distributed across different sites/countriesYou have strong organizational and team working skillsYou have an excellent verbal and written communication skills, good negotiation skills and a recognized capacity to influence all types of stakeholdersYou enjoy thinking outside the box and being creativeCompetenciesKnowledge of lab equipment for electronics and RF engineering such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzersKnowledge of scripting languages or other testing frameworks for test automationKnowledge of System Engineering V-modelEnglish and Italian fluency is a must, ability to speak additional languages such as French is a plusNice to haveA basic knowledge of Navaids equipment such as ILS, VOR, TACAN, DME and relevant regulations/standards (EN, ICAO, local standards)Knowledge of aerospace system/software/hardware quality assurance standards: SAE ARP4754, EUROCAE ED-109A (RTCA DO-278A), EUROCAE ED-80 (RTCA DO-254), EUROCAE ED-153Proficiency in issue tracking software (e.g. Jira)Proficiency in requirements and tests management toolsAt Thales we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
