Background
Albelissa is seeking a Supply Chain Project Engineer – PLF Design to support a project assignment for one of our major clients in the aerospace sector. The selected candidate will play a key role in coordinating activities related to the Payload Fairing (PLF), ensuring alignment between engineering, qualification, supply chain and supplier management functions.
This role combines technical oversight, supplier monitoring, project tracking and quality support. The engineer will act as a link between Italian‑based teams and European suppliers, ensuring progress visibility, risk identification, proper documentation flow and support to test and qualification phases.
This position requires strong communication and organizational skills to manage interactions among internal stakeholders, the client and international suppliers, while ensuring compliance with technical requirements, quality standards and project timelines.
Responsibilities
Supplier On‑Site Coordination
Serve as primary interface at the supplier in Zurich (Switzerland).
Ensure regular on‑site presence (1–2 days / week) to follow development, industrialisation, production and testing.
Identify risks and propose mitigation actions.
Maintain structured and consistent communication between supplier and customer teams.
Technical & Engineering Support
Review engineering documentation (specifications, requirements, ICDs, test plans, qualification reports).
Support discussions related to PLF design, mechanical interfaces and structural / dynamic performance.
Verify alignment between supplier deliverables and system requirements.
Testing, Verification & Qualification
Follow supplier‑led test preparation and execution.
Validate completeness and traceability of test data and qualification documents.
Support non‑conformance analysis and corrective actions.
Supply Chain & Quality Interface
Coordinate with Supply Chain and Quality on planning, documentation, deliveries and readiness.
Manage NCRs, deviations and concessions with internal teams.
Support compliance with aerospace quality standards.
Assist procurement and contract follow‑up when required.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare structured daily / weekly updates and progress reports.
Maintain traceability of activities and deliverables.
Ensure streamlined communication across engineering, quality, procurement and supply chain.
Export Control & Compliance
Ensure correct handling and transmission of export‑controlled documentation.
Support preparation of documentation required for export processes.
Work Environment & Travel
Hybrid arrangement : on‑site in Zurich 1–2 days per week and remote work on remaining days.
European travel (Belgium, Southern France) approximately every 1–2 weeks.
Preferred residence in Northern Italy to support weekly travel.
Requirements
Education
Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another STEM field.
Technical Skills & Experience
Background in engineering, structures, supply chain coordination or manufacturing follow‑up.
Experience in supplier coordination or technical project roles.
Familiarity with testing, verification, qualification processes and technical documentation.
Ability to interpret engineering specifications and requirements.
Knowledge of Quality Assurance principles (NCR, corrective actions, audits).
Ability to work in a multi‑stakeholder international environment.
Accuracy in handling documentation and ensuring traceability.
Familiarity with export‑controlled documentation is appreciated; training will be provided if needed.
Sector Background
Aerospace experience strongly preferred (structures, mechanical systems, supply chain).
Other acceptable sectors include defense, advanced automotive, energy and railway.

Location
Hybrid role with regular presence at the supplier in Zurich (1–2 days / week).

Preferably based in Northern Italy.

Contract Type
Contract offered through Albelissa with long‑term continuity aligned to program phases. Compensation and level will be defined according to the candidate’s skills and professional experience.

Required Skills
Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electronic, or Telecommunications Engineering, or an equivalent STEM discipline.
Proven experience in supplier management, scheduling, and project coordination within engineering or industrial environments.
Strong understanding of system requirements management and system architecture analysis.
Experience in testing, verification, and qualification activities is considered an asset.
Knowledge of Quality Assurance processes and standards.
Excellent organisational, analytical, and reporting capabilities.
Fluent in English (C1 level or above).
Availability to travel across Europe (Switzerland, Belgium, France).
Ideally based in Northern Italy to facilitate regular travel to Zurich (Switzerland).
Previous experience in the Aerospace sector is highly preferred.
