This role is specifically focused on the assessment of PCBA manufacturing processes. The Quality Engineer will not be conducting general Quality Management System (QMS) audits but will instead focus on ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of the supplier's manufacturing capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesQualification of new suppliersConduct detailed technical and quality assessments of PCBA manufacturing processes at suppliers' facilitiesAssess the supplier’s manufacturing processes, quality management systems, and adherence to regulatory requirementsReview and validate supplier documentation, including process flow diagrams, control plans, and quality reportsEnsure compliance with relevant industry standards such as IPC-A-610 (for PCBA), ISO 9001, and other applicable regulationsReview assessment reports for consistency and alignment with client guidelines, ensuring thoroughness and clarityManagement of supplier nonconformities (NCRs) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and 8D reportsWork closely with suppliers to identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions where necessaryPerform and support in-depth technical analysis and failure mode evaluations for PCBA assembliesRequired QualificationsGood knowledge of industry standards, including IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-620, J-STD-001, ISO 9001, and others relevant to PCBA processesSkilled in evaluating and analyzing manufacturing processes, failure modes, potential risks and risk level assessing in PCBA productionFamiliarity with tools and methods for assessing product quality and identifying opportunities for continuous improvementStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, clients, and internal teamsDetail-oriented with the ability to thoroughly review reports and documentation for accuracy and compliancePreferred QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing and inspectionGeneral Knowledge of CEI EN 61340-5-1, CEI EN 61340-5-2 and other “ESD” applicable standardsGood knowledge of electronic components and related datasheets is requiredAbility to read and understand electrical diagrams, bill of materials, testing procedures and other technical documentation for PCBA manufacturing.Languagesgood knowledge of Italian and EnglishABOUT USNidec Conversion is a $600M Business Unit of Nidec Corporation, a $18 Billion+ global company, headquartered in Milan (Italy) and footprint in more than 10 countries.
