Other Wärtsilä hubs in Europe can be considered.What you will be doingAs a Strategic Purchaser, your work will include acting in a key role in the supplier interface, leading supply management activities and co-creating & implementing category team action plans. You’ll be working as a part of an international Supply Management organization connected to 4-stroke engine sourcing.As Strategic Purchaser, your work will focus on these responsibilities :Contribute to cross-functional Category team strategy creation, action plan and implementationEnsuring Quality, Delivery, Lead Time, Cost development and Compliance of materials and services for own area of responsibilityManaging and developing supplier base, performance, relationships and negotiationsSupporting supplier and product validation processSecuring supplier long-term capacity and forecastingWork closely together with key internal stakeholders like R&D and Product ManagementTo be successful in this role, we expect you to have :MSc or BSc in Economics or Engineering, or qualified by equivalent experienceWorking knowledge of international supply chain processesProven track record in sourcingWell-developed and effective negotiation and influencing skillsEngaging presentation skillsTeam player with excellent interpersonal skills who engages and collaborates with others to deliver resultsSelf-motivated, driven and reliable to take responsibility for your actionsFluency in English, both verbal and writtenExperience in SAP is seen as a benefitKnowledge of high precision metalworking technologies and markets is seen as an advantageWillingness to travelIn this role, some travel is required to meet with our suppliers and stakeholders around the world.
