Mgr, Kuiper Customer TerminalsProject Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low‑latency, high‑speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.A Senior Manufacturing Technical Manager in the Kuiper Customer Terminal Engineering organization will understand customer desires, technology, and business opportunities to design and deliver Customer Terminals to a diverse set of Aviation customers. You understand key problems and analyze multiple solutions working cross‑functionally to produce the most power‑efficient, cost‑effective, technically advanced, lowest‑cost manufacturing assembly and test, and scalable Customer Terminal available in the market.Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Key Job ResponsibilitiesIdentify and solve technical manufacturing assembly and testing challenges independently.Continuously improve internal design team standards to optimize for manufacturing assembly and testing.Collaborate with engineers, business development leaders, industrial design, customer terminal operations, and product integrity to drive technical updates to the manufacturing and assembly line for Customer Terminal performance standardization.Lead projects with widespread impact on Customer Terminal design, innovation, and implementation.Review business cases and analysis models with the business development team to ensure program viability.Decompose complex problems, distill underlying risks and benefits, and identify straightforward and actionable solutions to reduce risk.Work independently with frequent reviews with business, engineering, software, operations, and others.Escalate high‑impact issues independently and actively facilitate escalation to senior engineering and business leadership.Understand the key aspects of legacy and modern phased array antenna design for satellite systems and how to incorporate new innovations.About the TeamKuiper is focused on providing broadband access to underserved customers across the world. The ability to set priorities using high value judgment is a must in the role as you will have independence on focus on what you deem is critical to the organization.Basic Qualifications5+ years of technical product or program management experience.7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience.Experience managing programs across cross‑functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent.15+ years of experience in either mass production consumer electronics or aviation. Experience in Design for Manufacture, Design for Test, Design for SMT, Design for Quality.Preferred Qualifications5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical management experience.Experience managing projects across cross‑functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules.Experience defining KPI’s/SLA’s used to drive multi‑million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.Proficient in the use of statics (Cpk, Ppk, Design of Experiments, confidence level, correlation studies).
