Join us and make a difference for customers around the world.Key job responsibilitiesWorking with hardware design teams as a subject matter expert in electromagnetic environmental effects testing throughout the development process, including: Test requirements, Test Readiness Reviews, EMC test and support, Test Report DocumentationDevelopment and maintenance of EMC test software and report generationSupport of EMC equipment calibration and maintenanceCompletion of EMC test procedures and test reports, support teams with test configurations, and perform testing to the MIL‑STD‑461 and/or DO‑160 requirementsCollaboration with teams for definition and support of LRU cable harnesses, loads, and test racks for EMC testingDefinition and coordination of EMI/EMC test scheduling for all satellite electronic subsystems and vehicle/spacecraft levelTroubleshooting/Development investigation testing in conjunction with Avionics teams across Amazon LeoExport Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.A day in the lifeThe Amazon Leo Electrical Engineering team is responsible for architecture and development of satellite bus systems as well as working across payloads on design and development of complex communications systems. In addition to satellite systems, we also play a key role in the development of the Leo Customer Terminal.The team delivers in multiple areas such as bus development, payload development, embedded SW, signal integrity, power, PCB development, and EMC test. The team includes hardware‑in‑the‑loop development for satellite systems to build out an extensive set of test systems for validated satellite systems.About the teamThe Amazon Leo Electrical Engineering team is responsible for the development, test, and integration of multiple satellite systems.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent degree, or experience5+ years of experience in a hardware design or testing rolePreferred Qualifications5+ years of experience in spaceflight avionics testing as an electromagnetic environmental effects engineerExperience with using analysis tools to define requirements for emissions and susceptibility of avionics componentsKnowledge and understanding of EMC industry standards and specifications for aerospace (MIL‑STD‑461, MIL‑STD‑1541A, DO‑160 etc)Experience modelling electromagnetic environments using computational software (CST, HFSS, etc).Experience with EMC lab test equipment, setup, and configurationsExperience with Qualification Procedures, Reports, Test Readiness Reviews, and failure reporting and investigationAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process, please contact your Recruiting Partner.Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600 per year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600 per year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
