Sr. Cost Analyst, AWS AI/ML Supply Chain

AWS Supply Chain is seeking a highly effective candidate to design and implement innovative solutions that deliver the best operating and lowest cost infrastructure in the world. This individual will own partnering with the supply chain and engineering owners to aggregate the costs of critical AI/ML hardware and report the latest cost status to senior leadership. They will stay up-to-date with engineering changes and be the single‑threaded owner for reporting costing information in leadership reviews, influencing and partnering with cross‑functional teams including hardware engineering, supply chain, quality, and operations.
Key Job Responsibilities
Operate as the single threaded owner from supply chain for rolling up material costs for strategic AI/ML products.
Work cross‑functionally to gather feedback from supply chain, engineering, and product managers to ensure the latest cost roll‑up reflects known engineering changes.
Own the cost reduction roadmap by engaging owners across commodities and communicate it to leadership through written and verbal updates.
Deliver AWS’s cost objectives through a detailed understanding of all cost drivers and bill of material reviews.
Inform and influence senior leadership about business status, risk and opportunities via written narratives.
Prepare and present detailed data‑driven business reviews with senior management, focused on procurement/sourcing execution and continuity of supply.
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of basic supply agreement construction and key contracting provisions/requirements.
Bachelor’s or an advanced degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field, or 6+ related experience.
6+ years of strategic sourcing or procurement of hardware, or 4+ with an advanced degree.
3+ years experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, etc.
5+ years of related supply chain experience in cloud computing, high technology or consumer electronics.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Knowledge of global supply chain processes and practices; demonstrated ability to manage complex technical Bill‑of‑Materials (BOM) costs.
Proven experience establishing the cost reduction roadmap and successfully reporting it to senior leadership.
Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering teams in a highly fast‑paced (tech) environment.
Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems that may not have one clear answer.

Compensation and Benefits
The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon also offers equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
