Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Solar field technicians to join our client's growing team in Italy. This role involves hands‑on technical work at solar farm installations, ensuring optimal performance, maintenance, and troubleshooting of photovoltaic systems.
Locations
We are recruiting for solar farm sites in the following regions :
Emilia‑Romagna
Bologna, Modena, Parma, Reggio Emilia, Ferrara, Ravenna, Rimini, Forlì, Cesena, Piacenza
Lombardy (Lombardia)
Milan (Milano), Bergamo, Brescia, Monza, Como, Varese, Cremona, Mantua (Mantova), Pavia, Lecco, Lodi
Veneto (Padova area)
Padua (Padova), Venice (Venezia), Verona, Vicenza, Treviso, Rovigo
Lombardy (Pavia area)
Pavia, Milan (Milano), Vigevano, Voghera, Stradella
Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to one of these regions.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
Install, commission, and test solar PV systems at utility‑scale solar farms
Connect solar panels, inverters, and electrical components according to technical specifications
Perform system integration and grid connection procedures
Conduct pre‑commissioning inspections and quality checks
Maintenance & Operations
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on solar installations
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults in PV systems
Monitor system performance and identify areas for optimization
Replace faulty components including panels, inverters, cables, and junction boxes
Safety & Compliance
Adhere to all health and safety regulations on‑site
Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols
Ensure compliance with Italian electrical standards and regulations
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and site visits
Technical Support
Provide technical support to the operations team
Collaborate with engineers and project managers on system improvements
Report technical issues and recommend solutions
Support commissioning activities for new installations
Essential Requirements
Technical Qualifications
Electrical qualification or equivalent technical certification
Proven experience working on solar PV systems (minimum 2‑3 years preferred)
Knowledge of solar inverters, transformers, and electrical distribution systems
Understanding of high voltage and low voltage electrical systems
Familiarity with solar farm operations and maintenance procedures
Language Skills
Fluent Italian (essential for daily operations and client communication)
English proficiency (desirable for technical documentation)
Location & Mobility
Must be based in Emilia‑Romagna, Lombardy, Padova, or Pavia regions
Valid Italian or EU driving license (essential for site visits)
Willingness to travel between solar farm sites within the region
Flexibility for occasional overnight stays when working at remote locations
Proximity to solar farm installations is highly advantageous

Desirable Skills

Knowledge of battery energy storage systems (BESS)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations or Italian equivalent (CEI standards)
Experience working on utility‑scale solar farms (MW‑scale projects)
Health & Safety certifications relevant to electrical work
Experience with thermal imaging and diagnostic equipment
Previous experience working with international teams
