Our Core Values
Relationships are our first asset: We're one team, built on trust, honesty, and transparency. We value our relationships above all else.
Trust drives success: We give each other the space to grow. We empower our employees to succeed, so they can make a real impact.
Our customers dream big, just like us: We see the bigger picture and we make sure our customers see it, too. We're always focused on the best outcomes for our clients and for each other, no matter what the goal, or how big the dream.
What this means in practice
At Moneyfarm, our success comes from the impact each of us makes. We move with purpose, urgency, and ambition, focused on delivering outcomes that matter for our clients and our business. Everyone is empowered to take ownership, challenge the status quo, and turn bold ideas into results. As we evolve, we embrace AI as a catalyst for sharper thinking, smarter decisions, and even greater impact.
Our diversity makes this possible. Different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences fuel our creativity and drive better decisions — it's our competitive edge. We value people for who they are and their unique strengths: that's why we offer flexible ways of working to support them in doing their best work.
About the role
We are a fast‑growing fintech business transforming the way clients access and manage their investments. Our Operations team is central to ensuring seamless, efficient, and scalable client experiences. To further strengthen our capability, we are seeking an Operations Developer—a hands‑on technical role embedded within Operations, focused on process automation, back‑office tooling, and operational efficiency.

Understand day‑to‑day operational workflows
Identify areas where manual processes can be automated or optimised
Build, maintain, and extend our existing back‑office toolset
Develop dashboards, alerts, and data‑driven insights to support proactive decision‑making
You will focus on delivering high‑impact, low‑effort improvements that immediately reduce manual effort and operational risk as well as define and deliver a strategic roadmap for back‑office automation, including dashboarding, reporting, and tool enhancements that scale with the business.
Responsibilities
Work closely with Operations teams to analyse workflows, pain points, and manual processes
Automate repetitive tasks and manual checks using SQL, scripting, or integrations
Enhance and maintain the back‑office system, building new features to support operational needs
Develop monitoring and alerting systems to enable more proactive operational management
Create dashboards (e.g. Tableau, Metabase) to give clear visibility of key operational metrics
Investigate operational bugs and issues, identifying root causes and delivering fixes or automation to prevent recurrenceCollaborate with technology teams when dependencies arise, ensuring solutions align with business priorities
Propose and drive a longer‑term automation strategy, including AI/ML opportunities to further improve efficiency
Requirements
Essential
Strong SQL skills (data extraction, transformation, and automation)
Experience with Scala
Experience developing back‑office or internal tools (full‑stack capability ideal)
Proven ability to identify and deliver quick wins while building toward a long‑term strategy
Experience building lightweight dashboards or visibility tools (e.g., Tableau, Metabase, or similar) to support operational decision‑making
Familiarity with automation frameworks or scripting (Python, Node.js, etc.)
Problem‑solving mindset, able to investigate root causes of operational issues
Ability to work directly with non‑technical stakeholders and translate operational needs into technical solutions
Experience in fintech, financial services, or other regulated industries
Desirable
Knowledge of AI/ML applications for automation and data‑driven decision‑making
Understanding of alerting/monitoring systems
What We Are Looking For
An investigative/entrepreneurial and curious mindset, with the ability to understand complex operational processes
A hands‑on builder who enjoys solving problems quickly, not just designing long‑term solutions
Someone equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to fix bugs as they are setting a strategy for future improvements
A communicator who can work across teams, bridging the gap between operations and technology
What We Offer
The chance to shape the automation strategy of a fast‑growing fintech
Exposure to both technical and operational challenges, with autonomy to deliver impact
A supportive environment where experimentation and problem‑solving are valued
