Software Engineer (C++ Developer) – Open also to Protected Categories – Law 68/99
Location: Gorgonzola, Italy. Open to candidates from protected categories as per Italian Law 68/99.
Thales delivers operational advantage through comprehensive defence systems. The Gorgonzola facility supports the Navigations Air Systems domain—providing avionics, navigation and radar systems for civil and military use.
Responsibilities
Define requirements and design software architecture.
Code and test embedded systems following aerospace standards.
Work with Agile Scrum teams and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Ensure rigorous quality and regulatory compliance.
Participate in product evolution and technology innovation.
Competencies
Solid knowledge of Linux OS and POSIX.
Programming in C, C++ and Python.
TCP/IP networking and low‑level APIs.
Complex algorithm development and multi‑threaded architectures.
Scripting with Bash, Python or Perl.
Tools: DOORS, GIT, Jira.
Experience with design and testing lifecycles in regulated environments.
Development of security products.
Good teamwork, creativity and communication.
Nice to Have
Experience with RedHat Package Manager packaging.
Familiarity with Linux containers (Docker, LXC, OpenShift, Kubernetes).
Experience with Linux device drivers and bootloaders.
Knowledge of Yocto build environments.
Experience with SNMP protocol.
Familiarity with build automation (Jenkins) and automated testing.
