The job holder will be involved in the Payload Data Ground Segment (PDGS) operational activities. The PDGS is an operational system responsible for receiving, processing, disseminating and archiving data collected by the satellite's payload instruments.Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Software Engineer you will be responsible for :Support to Operational Readiness Review of the PDGSPerform EO data processing activities : production, dissemination, archivingConfiguration, setup and integration of software modulesDevelopment of tools / scripts able to monitor and handle the EO data production / dissemination flowLinux shell scripting, python programming for maintenance and operation activitiesSupport to testing and verification activitiesExecution of regular maintenance activitiesReal¬time monitoring and control of the overall PDGS systemTransfer to Operations support on, e.g. :o introduction of new mission and new mission requirementso software configuration changeso operational system evolutiono new system integration in the operational projectManagement of service incidents and anomaliesContribution to produce PDGS Operations Plan and ProceduresSecond level of Help desk technical supportContribution to prepare Operational ReportsTechnical and Project documentation review and editingSupport during regular meetings and auditsGeneration of service and progress reportsSuccessful CandidateKnowledge and experience :Knowledge of Anomaly management, System design and Software Validation and testing activities best practiceKnowledge of Software configuration control best practiceWorking experience on complex systems, e.g., in Ground Segment contextAbility to work in a team and to share and acquire knowledgeProactive approach to problem identification and resolutionExperience in anomaly investigationTechnical documentation preparationOther skills, knowledge and experience :Experience matured on data center and complex IT environments is an asset.Experience in setting up Virtual environments both on Physical and Cloud Platforms is an asset.Good communications skills in English (spoken, written) and good knowledge of Italian.Take full responsibility for the successful conclusion of the activities and success-oriented.Very good user liaison capability and team-player spirit.Sharp and curious mind.Availability to travel within Europe to attend meetings.Good technical and analytical skillsGood documentation writing skillsAbility to manage several tasks in parallel and to prioritiseAbout the CompanySerco is a leading provider of public services.
