This is a unique opportunity to build data analytics platforms and AI services that power Amazon's digital businesses. Our team (MIDAS) owns a comprehensive suite of services spanning metadata discovery, data lineage tracking, customer segmentation, compliance automation, AI-powered data access through generative AI and LLMs, and intelligent data quality detection. We serve over 100 Amazon business and tech teams with a monthly active user base of 20,000+ users, delivering mission-critical capabilities that enable data-driven decision making at Amazon scale.ResponsibilitiesDevelop long-term product strategy and translate vision into achievable roadmaps that align with business objectivesDrive product adoption and influence key stakeholders by building strong relationships with clients and partners across the organizationLead a high-performing team of software engineers to architect, develop, test, and deploy scalable software solutions with persistent customer focusManage all aspects of team development including hiring top talent, mentoring engineers, career management, and maintaining team performance excellenceDefine technical vision and architecture for complex distributed systems, making critical decisions that balance speed, quality, and operational excellencePartner closely with science teams to implement ML/AI strategies and integrate them into production systemsLead design reviews and architecture discussions for large-scale distributed systems that handle petabyte-scale data processingBASIC QUALIFICATIONS7+ years of engineering experience3+ years of engineering team management experience8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experienceKnowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operationsExperience partnering with product or program management teamsExperience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systemsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategyExperience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineersOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
