Software Development Engineer II, Brazil PaymentsWork on the Brazil Payments team to enable a wide range of payment options for Amazon customers in Brazil. Develop new payment integrations and enhance existing payment flows to improve the customer experience. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, operations, and other engineering teams to deliver reliable and scalable payment solutions. Mentor junior engineers and continuously improve engineering practices and standards.Key responsibilitiesIntegrate new payment methods (e.g. local credit/debit cards, digital wallets, bank transfers) into the Amazon platformEnhance existing payment flows to optimize conversion, reduce friction, and improve reliabilityEnsure payment systems are highly available, secure, and able to handle growing transaction volumesParticipate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to maintain qualityIdentify and resolve performance bottlenecks and technical debtA day in the lifeWork closely with product managers to understand customer needs and translate them into technical solutionsCollaborate with payment providers and other partners to onboard new payment methodsReview code changes, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to engineering best practicesInvestigate and resolve production issues, working with the operations team to maintain high availabilityParticipate in team meetings to discuss progress, blockers, and future plansAbout the teamThe Brazil Payments team is responsible for enabling a wide range of payment options for Amazon customers in Brazil.
