Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.The RoleIn this role, you will participate in all phases of software development from requirements through implementation and test to operations. Our team tackles many critical satellite functions: power management, hardware interfaces, command & telemetry, and autonomous control.ResponsibilitiesDevelop embedded software in assembly, C, C++, or other languages in a real-time operating system environmentWrite software to interact with devices/electronics using I2C, SPI, RS-422, RS-485, Ethernet, etc. communicationsWrite device drivers and system applications for flight code and flight managementWork closely with hardware teams to support board bring-up and integration testingExport ControlDue to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Basic Qualifications3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experienceExperience programming with at least one software programming languagePreferred Qualifications3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experienceBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
