We’re looking for a Software AIV Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team.This role requires a versatile professional who combines Python programming with electronics knowledge and space industry experience. The main objective is to design and develop automated test procedures for the verification of flight software on avionic platforms, validated in the Engineering Model of the spacecraft, representative of the Flight Model. The role also supports AIV testing during subsystem, system and spacecraft integration, with emphasis on hardware-software integration and electronic board validation.ResponsibilitiesScript development for testing the subsystem and system (e.g., from satellite sensors and actuators up to the AOCS system)Validation of features, including integration with software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test suites, and V&V technical documentationDefine test scenarios against embedded software requirementsSupport the hardware engineer in procedure maintenance, non-conformance handling, improvement, and delta design analysisPrepare work instructions and test procedures for Manufacturing operators to upload and test the flight softwareContribute to continuous improvement of team processes, methodologies, and test frameworkRequirementsMinimum of 1 year of experience in embedded software developmentExperience delivering embedded software in a C-family languageProven ability to design, develop, and deliver an application in PythonKnowledge of embedded communication interfaces (RS232, RS485, USART, SPI, I2C, CAN)Clear technical communication skillsDegree in computer engineering, electronic engineering, aerospace engineering, robotics, or automationProficient in using electronic lab instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, spectrum analyzer, power supply, electronic load)Full professional proficiency in EnglishPreferred QualificationsExperience in writing engineering documents (requirements specifications, Validation & Verification plan, ICD, etc.) and test proceduresExperience in defining software system specifications and software requirementsGood knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and common design patternsFamiliarity with Git or similar DVCSFamiliarity with LabVIEW and PLC SiemensItalian language proficiencyHiring ProcessApplication review: we evaluate all applications and contact candidates who closely match the roleFirst chat: initial meeting with the people team to discuss mutual expectations and goalsTechnical interviews: one or two interviews focused on your skillsOffer: if a good fit, we extend an offer; timing may vary as we carefully consider the fit with the teamWe strive to respond to all interviewees; if you have questions, please reach out.
