We are seeking a Skilled Satellite Configuration Designer to join Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%). With over 40 years of experience, we deliver high‑tech solutions across telecommunications, navigation, Earth Observation, environmental management, and more.
Qualifications

Graduated with a Master of Engineering and have proven experience in configuration management.
Experience working in an integrated team on large‑scale projects combining specific developments and off‑the‑shelf solutions.
Strong problem‑solving skills and passion for tackling difficult issues.
Resilience in challenging and evolving environments.
Commitment to mentoring and developing others.
Pragmatic, reliable, and rigorous in work approach.

Competencies

Apply configuration management in line with contractual requirements and stakeholder expectations.
Knowledge of systems integration principles across system, hardware, and software.
Proficiency with PLM tools.
Adaptability to various development models and application of Agile and Lean principles.
Manage complexity and lead change effectively.
Create buy‑in by clearly explaining needs and initiatives.

Responsibilities

Coordinate all configuration management activities within projects in collaboration with the Hardware Manager and Solution CM.
Establish and implement the Configuration Management Plan.
Specify and enforce configuration management requirements to subcontractors and suppliers.
Participate in the selection of configuration items and establish breakdown structures.
Ensure identification activities, baseline needs, and corrections are managed and documented.
Lead commissions (TEB/CCB), establish baselines (FBL, ABL, PBL) and maintain configuration status.
Perform configuration verifications and participate in end‑of‑phase reviews such as PDR and CDR.
Raise awareness, advise, and share best practices on configuration management across contributors.
