Job Description
REPORT TO: Site General Manager
SCOPE OF AUTHORITY: Champion a sustainable EHS culture to ensure employee Safety & Health and to protect the Environment, in order to enable compliant operations and business effectiveness.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
Lead EHS Regulatory Compliance: Provide guidance to site managers and employees, conduct internal and support external audits, to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements. Design corrective and preventative action plans.
Assess and Mitigate Risks: Identify EHS risks and define proactive mitigations. Ensure that site investment and changes in processes, equipment and systems are carried out in accordance with the concepts of EHS by design and relevant EHS requirements and cGMP.
Design and Implement Annual EHS Plan: In collaboration with the site leadership team, create, implement, monitor and update the site EHS plan.
Monitor, Analyze and Share EHS Information: Provide necessary information and data to site managers and supervisors, Global EHS and other internal and external stakeholders, in order to support the achievement of EHS objectives and enhance Teva’s reputation.
Promote a Sustainable EHS Culture: Create and maintain an EHS culture throughout the site that inspires a proactive attitude and a firm belief that ‘target zero’ is achievable. Create a space where people can speak openly and are encouraged to present new ideas about EHS stewardship.
Provide Expertise, Guidance, Coaching and Training: Develop and implement training programs, provide coaching, expertise and guidance to managers and employees of the site.
Lead Continuous EHS Improvement: Lead continuous improvement in EHS using Operational Excellence principles and visible‑felt leadership to achieve ‘target zero’ goals and to enable compliant operations and business effectiveness.
Lead the Site EHS Team: Identify, recruit, develop and retain qualified EHS professionals to provide EHS services to the site. Implement managerial practices to ensure the EHS team’s high performance, modeling Teva's values and leadership framework.
Site Leadership Team Member: Serve as an influential member of the site leadership team, who impacts decision making and takes an active role in promoting cross‑site initiatives, team work and collaboration across site functions.
Member of the Global Network & Professional Community: Bring global best practices into the site and actively share site perspective, knowledge and lessons learned to contribute and support a best‑in‑class professional level of EHS globally.
Manage Relations with Regulatory Agencies, the Local Community and external suppliers: Develop trusted and proactive relationships with regulatory agencies, local community and external suppliers to promote compliance and social responsibility, in Teva's business interest.
RSPP Role on Site
Safety Responsibility:
“Preposto per la sicurezza” according to the Italian Law D.Lgs 81/2008: Person, that in accordance to professional skills and function, supervises the work and ensures the implementation of the directives received, monitoring the successful execution by workers and exercising a functional power.
Essential Requirements
Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System is fully applied within the area of responsibility maintaining total compliance to current GMP, GDP, Data Integrity requirements.
Ensure adherence to environment, health and safety company requirements as well as legal obligations.
Behave according to company Ethical Code and company values.
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum: Bachelor's Degree: engineering or related science‑based. Master’s Degree in Safety / Industrial hygiene / Environment is an advantage.
Professional certifications a must when required legally. Other professional certifications, i.e. CSP, CIH, are considered a plus.
Experience with management systems such as ISO 9001; ISO 14001; OHSAS 45001

English: fluent
Local Language
Experience:
Minimum: 5 years work experiences in EHS in a chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
RSPP qualification is mandatory
