Key Responsibilities
Act as the site’s safety champion and lead the Global WHS Program implementation.
Combine hands‑on safety management with strategic thinking to protect our most valuable asset – our people.
Bridge the gap between safety requirements and operational success, influencing positive change and shaping safety culture.
Collaborate with Operations leadership to drive safety initiatives that enhance productivity and well‑being.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, analyze safety data, and implement practical solutions.
Lead safety compliance efforts, perform thorough site audits, and analyze incident trends to target improvements.
Manage the first aid program and emergency response capabilities, ensuring immediate care is always available.
Transform safety data into actionable insights and engage associates in the safety mission.
Core Impact Areas
Safety Leadership & Innovation – Transform safety culture through leadership and innovative solutions; drive continuous improvement and leverage technology and data analytics for preventive measures.
Strategic Partnership & Influence – Build partnerships with Operations leadership to integrate safety into every aspect of the business; use data analysis and risk insights to influence decision‑making; oversee recordkeeping, workplace organization, and WHS training programs.
Additional Job Elements
Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
Work in an environment where noise levels vary and temperatures/weather are subject to change (delivery stations include outside loading departments).
Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs).
Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site.
For those without an adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, certification must be obtained within 3 weeks of start date.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, pivot tables, and chart/graphic development.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS with a mix of exempt and non‑exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people.
Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
Experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic organization.
Certified Safety Professional.
Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders.
Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem‑solving ability.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $63,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $115,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
