Job ID: 3015516 | Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLCProject Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.As a Senior System Development Engineer, you will be responsible for integration, simulation, and test of state-of-the-art space borne phased array systems. You will work internally and cross-functionally with a multi-disciplinary team to improve test speed and data collection, perform root cause analysis, and correlate test data with end-to-end system level simulations.ResponsibilitiesMeasure, validate, and perform root cause analysis on phased array systems and sub-systemsInterface with standard RF equipment to enable automation and efficient data collectionCreate and/or modify new software features to enable testing of standard phased array system metrics such as EIRP, EVM, and G/TAct as a liaison with the Kuiper software team to drive new product requirements based on RF system test needsPerform end-to-end modeling, simulation, and analysis of digital phased array systemsExport Control Requirement:Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Basic QualificationsBS in Electrical Engineering with relevant coursework in digital communication theory, digital signal processing, RF/Microwave Engineering, Antennas and Electromagnetic theory5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience3+ years of deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment experienceExperience with Standard RF Test Equipment such as VSA, VNA, and VSGExperience with Hardware/Software system bring up and debuggingPreferred QualificationsMS in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of professional experience or PhD with 5+ years of professional experienceExperience in RF system design, line-up analysis, digital modulation, radio architectureExperience with simulation tools such as SystemVue, ADS or LabViewExcellent mathematical and problem-solving skillsHighly accurate and detail-orientedAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
