We design cutting-edge AI-powered collaborative systems for surface finishing and beyond.G-nous Tech is looking for a Senior Robotics and Automation Engineer to support us on the development and deployment of our innovative products. As a key member of the G-nous Tech team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping AI-powered robotics automation solutions, while closely collaborating with the leadership team.Where you will be involvedDesign, implement and deploy robotic solutions, with particular focus on surface finishing robot workstationsStudy, select and integrate accessories, e.g., surface finishing systems, additional axes, vision systems, designed ad hoc for the specific applicationsPerform feasibility analysis, define technical specifications, and functional requirements of robotic automation systemsWork closely with the customer to understand the manufacturing process by observing operations, taking measurements, reviewing CAD files, and documenting machineryWork with the product and engineering teams to improve the customer experienceSupport in defining the long-term automation and robotics roadmap with a strategic horizonDrafting detailed technical specifications, align vendors on requirements, and support technical and economic evaluationsWho we are looking forMaster’s Degree in Automation / Mechatronics / Robotics Engineering or equivalentWorking experience with industrial and collaborative robot manipulators: UR, KUKA, ABB, etc.Knowledge of software and tools generally used in industrial automation and control systems: PLC, software development (Python, C, C++), robotic simulation environments (RoboDK)Demonstrated hands‑on experience in designing, building and deploying robotic systemsKnowledge regarding the main operations concerning the integration of robotic automation systems (feasibility analyses, technical specifications and functional requirements)Knowledge of main industrial communication protocols (Ethernet / IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP)Knowledge of robotics fundamentals (kinematics, path planning, collision avoidance, control theory)Excellent problem‑solving and practical skills, and ability to work in a teamNice to haveHands‑on experience in safety design of robotic cells, including risk assessment, safety PLC configuration (e.g., Siemens S7-1500F with TIA Portal, Bechkoff PLC, Rockwell GuardLogix), programming in IEC 61131-3 languages (Structured Text, Ladder Diagram, Function Block Diagram), design of emergency stop circuits, and compliance with EU Machinery Directive 2006 / 42 / EC, ISO 10218, and ISO / TS 15066 collaborative robot safety standardsFamiliarity with surface finishing processes (sanding, grinding, polishing, deburring) and force‑controlled robot applicationsWhat you will findCollaborative culture: you will be working alongside brilliant and motivated people, where knowledge sharing, mutual support, and high standards are at the core of our workImmediate impact: the solutions you design will be implemented directly in industrial environments, delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and sustainabilityProfessional growth: as part of a rapidly scaling startup, you will assume significant responsibility from the outset, with clear opportunities to progress into technical leadership and strategic rolesAgile environment: a dynamic and flexible workplace, combining the speed of a startup with a strong focus on excellence and structured executionPermanent full‑time placement in the companyVia Giuseppe Sangiorgi 15, 70124, Bari (BA), Italy
