What can you expect from the role?
Unilever is market leader in Cleaning and Hygiene Products and has been growing well over several years. The Homecare Innovation team is responsible for global design for Domestos, Cif and Living Hygiene brands, one of the fastest growing categories in Unilever. The team's responsibilities encompass new product development, improving the value equation of current products. The position requires working on multiple Innovation, Renovation and Cost optimization projects under the supervision of the line manager. This job holder will work within a multidisciplinary team involving internal Unilever functions, external laboratories and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the delivery and the quality of all the technical aspects related to the product.
Ensure a Safe by Design mix strictly cooperating with SERS and Regulatory departments.
Work in cross‑functional teams involving Procurement, Supply Chain, R&D, Marketing to deliver projects OTIF.
Liaise with the Science & Technology Team to create next‑generation technologies.
Work with MIF (Materials Innovation Factory) to adopt automation for quality & speed.
Leverage on digital tools to minimize experiments, maximize output & speed up program delivery with more impactful technical solutions.
Scout new raw materials working with partners (via our Partner with Purpose Program) and/or new technologies enabling progress in sustainable future targets.
Collect, analyse, and record key sustainability parameters.
Lead and coach a group of technologists.
Key Interfaces
This figure will collaborate with R&D colleagues based in Casale, Port Sunlight and Bangalore, to achieve common goals. Moreover, he/she will be required to nurture a fruitful collaboration with the following other side‑functions.

Digital: Be good with Unilever digital tools (i.e. PLM, PHAROS, ELN, LIMS) on top of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and have passion for digitalisation and appetite to learn more

Relevant Experience
University Degree (minimum BSc) in chemical sciences
Professional experience in Product Design in FMCG (Fast‑Moving Consumer Good) industry inside or outside Unilever. Preferably at least six months’ working experience outside academia, with a technical role.
Previous roles as Senior Project Coordinator is an advantage.
