OverviewJoin the Provider of Healthcare Services to Public Prisons across Victoria. Multiple positions at various locations are available.About the rolesThe Senior Medical Officer (Fellow) will provide and supervise medical care to prisoners by delivering and evaluating medical programs and medical services required and/or provided. The Senior Medical Officer (Fellow) coordinates hours of service and on-call responsibilities in consultation with the Health Services Manager and the Director, Medical Services.Locations and SalariesWorking at multiple locations to increase up to Full Time can be discussed.Senior Medical PractitionerHopkins Correctional Centre, Ararat - 0.9 FTE, 9 days per fortnight - $364,500 per annum + SuperLoddon & Middleton Prison's, Castlemaine - 0.8 FTE, 8 days per fortnight - $280,000 per annum + SuperMarngoneet & Karreenga Correctional Centres, Lara - 0.6 FTE, 6 days per fortnight - $243,000 per annum + SuperWestern Plains Correctional Centre, Lara - 1.4 FTE, up to Full Time - $350,000 per annum + Super based on Full TimeMelbourne Assessment Prison, West Melbourne - 0.8 FTE, 8 days per fortnight - $324,000 per annum + SuperMetropolitan Remand Centre, Truganina - 0.4 FTE, 4 days per fortnight - $162,000 per annum + SuperRavenhall Correctional Centre, Ravenhall - 1.0 FTE, 10 days per fortnight - $350,000 per annum + SuperFor more information in relation to these roles, including the key accountabilities, please click the following link: Senior Medical Practitioner Position DescriptionSkills and ExperienceThe ideal candidates will have:Medical practitioner currently registered by the Medical Board of Australia (from 1 July 2010).Fellowship of the FRACGP (Mandatory).Documentary evidence of medical indemnity insurance.A minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience.High written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team (including supporting Allied Health & Nurse Practitioner).Demonstrated competence in provision of high-quality care.Willingness to undertake regular professional development relevant to the position.Computer skills relevant to the role.Experience in mental health, drug and alcohol and emergency care.
