We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to strengthen our Finance Team in Milan.
The role is focused on civil code and tax legislation, accountancy, cash pooling and management expenses in an international, multi-entity environment.
The Senior Accountant will ensure, in accordance with corporate procedures and received directives, the accuracy and timeliness of all accounting records, both general accounting and accounts payable.
This role requires autonomy, initiative, and ownership.
Key responsibilities
Civil Code and Tax Legislation
Ensures compliance with Italian civil and tax law, and the proper application of corporate accounting policies.
Manages the preparation and submission of tax returns and ensures the digital archiving of statutory accounting books.
Accountancy
Responsible for monthly and annual closing processes for both local statutory (Italy GAAP) and global requirements.
Manages reporting for the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss and consolidates on Group application.
Handles intercompany (I/C) transactions and reconciliations.
Manages all general accounting operations, including sales recording, reconciliations, accrual postings, and month‑end closing entries.
Acts as the unique and primary point of contact for all accounting matters internally (affiliate and global stakeholders such as Tax, Consolidation) and externally (auditors).
Manages the registration and accounting of banks, suppliers, assets, customers, and general ledger entries.
Ensures payments are executed within agreed deadlines using available banking tools.
Manages accounting related to Sales Force (medical representatives) and consultants.
Cash Pooling
Ensures correct accounting of cash‑pooling transactions and contributes to maintaining optimal cash levels.
Management Expenses
Processes vendor invoices and performs cost‑center controls.
Conducts periodic and sample audits on employee expense reports to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Requirements
Degree in Business Economics (or equivalent); additional certifications in accounting, taxation, or financial reporting are a plus.
Minimum 5 years previous experience in the role, in multinational contexts with high organizational and product complexity.
Strong knowledge of specific matters (e.g. national and international accounting principles, VAT, civil and Italian tax regulations, etc.).
Good knowledge of the English language (spoken and written).
National and international accounting principles and tax / civil / VAT legislation.
Proficiency with major ERP systems (D365 preferred, familiarity with consolidation applications, strong command of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel).
Ability to collaborate with multiple departments (Finance, Tax, Controlling, Treasury, Corporate).
Problem‑solving mindset with capacity to manage complex flows and unblock operational issues.
Strong communication, organization, and prioritization skills; high attention to detail, autonomy, and accountability.
