Global brands rely on us to increase conversion rates and simplify payment expansion effortlessly. As both a payments processor and a merchant of record where we operate, we make it possible for our merchants to make inroads into the world’s fastest-growing, emerging markets.By joining us you will be a part of an amazing global team that makes it all happen, in a flexible, remote‑first dynamic culture with travel, health and learning benefits, among others. Working with 1000+ teammates from 30+ different nationalities and developing an international career that impacts millions of people’s daily lives. We are builders, we never run from a challenge, we are customer‑centric, and if this sounds like you, we know you will thrive in our team.What’s the opportunity?We are looking for a Cloud Database Administrator focused on NoSQL and the AWS ecosystem to expand our team’s capabilities beyond MySQL/Aurora and accelerate our platform evolution at scale.You will own critical database services in production, driving performance, reliability, automation, and cost efficiency across our cloud data layer.What will I be doing?Own, operate, and optimize DynamoDB workloads in production, including data modeling, capacity strategy (provisioned/on-demand), GSIs/LSIs, TTL, Streams, backup/restore, and multi-region patternsDesign, deploy, and maintain DocumentDB and MongoDB clusters, including sharding, indexing strategies, backups, and performance tuningLeverage AWS services across the data stack (e.g., S3, KMS, IAM, CloudWatch, DMS, Lambda) to build reliable, observable, and secure data solutionsImplement automation‑as‑code (CLI/SDK) for schema and capacity changes, operational tasks, and guardrails to reduce toil and errorEstablish and improve observability for databases (metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, SLOs/alerts) and lead performance/root‑cause investigationsCollaborate with engineers to design efficient data access patterns and guide migrations and schema evolution with minimal downtimeContribute to reliability engineering practices (backups, DR, chaos/restore testing, incident reviews) across NoSQL platformsParticipate in an on‑call rotation and attend emergency escalations, including during off-hours when requiredWhat skills do I need?Hands‑on senior‑level expertise operating DynamoDB in production (table design and single-table modeling, indexes, Streams, backup/restore, performance/cost optimization) – this is a must‑haveExperience with AWS MSK or Kafka for event‑driven and streaming use cases – highly valuedExperience with DocumentDB and/or MongoDB administration (cluster sizing, replication/sharding, indexing, backups, upgrades, performance tuning)Solid command of AWS cloud fundamentals for data platforms (IAM, KMS encryption, networking basics, S3 patterns, monitoring/alerting with CloudWatch; experience with DMS and Lambda is a plus)Automation proficiency using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, GO, AWS CLI, and SDKs to build repeatable operations and safety checksWorking knowledge of relational databases as a plus (e.g., MySQL/Aurora, PostgreSQL) to partner with peers and support hybrid data designsClear communication in English and a collaborative, service‑oriented mindset working with distributed teamsNice to haveCertifications in AWS (e.g., Solutions Architect, Database – Specialty) or equivalent demonstrable expertiseExperience with infrastructure as code and Git‑based workflows (e.g., Terraform/CloudFormation, GitOps)Exposure to containers/orchestration (ECS/EKS) and securing data workloads in cloud-native environmentsPrior work with DocumentDB/MongoDB performance tuning at scale and multi-region topologiesOwnership and bias for action, with strong troubleshooting instincts and attention to detailProactive approach to automation, continuous improvement, and reliability engineeringCollaboration and communication that builds trust across engineering, platform, and operations teamsWhat do we offer?Remote work: work from anywhere or one of our offices around the globe!Flexibility: we have flexible schedules and we are driven by performanceFintech industry: work in a dynamic and ever‑evolving environment, with plenty to build and boost your creativityReferral bonus program: our internal talents are the best recruiters – refer someone ideal for a role and get rewardedLearning & development: get access to a Premium Coursera subscriptionLanguage classes: we provide free English, Spanish, or Portuguese classesSocial budget: you'll get a monthly budget to chill out with your team (in person or remotely) and deepen your connections!dLocal Houses: want to rent a house to spend one week anywhere in the world coworking with your team?
