Mott MacDonald is where people come to be brilliant.About Thebusinessunit: The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks, providing integrated engineering and project management across the project lifecycle.Overview Of The RoleThe Energy Transition team within our Energy unit is looking for Senior Civil & Structural (C&S) Engineers to strengthen the existing Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) team, providing advisory and design capabilities across a variety of power and energy project types and technologies in a growing portfolio, supporting our clients in the UK and across Europe as part of the energy transition.Key Responsibilities And DutiesWork within the Civil & Structural team to develop cost-effective, efficient and innovative Civil & Structural solutions to complex problems and then use engineering tools such as Revit, Tekla, Robot, AutoCAD and Civil 3D to create practical designsDeliver projects in various stages of maturity, including design review, feasibility studies, FEED studies and detailed designThere may be opportunities for site work during project development, construction and commissioningPrepare deliverables such as structural 3D models, structure design reports, general arrangement drawings, pipe support design and drawings, foundation envelops and RC detailingSupport the development of plant layouts and plant 3D modelsCollaborate with the project team to develop cost-effective, efficient and innovative solutions and create practical designsWork with equipment vendors on developing designs of equipment packages and participate in technical evaluations of vendor designsSupport the development of proposals and bids for Civil & Structural projects and contribute to multi-disciplinary proposalsProvide technical leadership and governanceDemonstrate a commitment to promoting health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplaceCandidate specificationEssentialA Degree in a relevant Engineering subjectChartered Engineer (or in the process of obtaining) and Member of relevant Engineering InstituteSignificant post graduate experience in C&S technical deliveryAbility and desire to assume a lead role in the development of C&S deliverablesAbility to adapt and work on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentExperience with structural design software such as Robot Professional and STAAD Pro in addition to CAD software such as Advanced Steel, Revit and AutoCADExcellent communication skillsKnowledge of design and construction of power and energy projectsProven understanding of the design process and ability to work with brief/scope documents, design concepts and calculationsWorking knowledge of national and international codes and standards used in the power and energy sectorExperience of working with clients and contractors with diverse objectives to achieve a technical solutionPreferred But Not EssentialExperience within Owner’s Engineer or technical advisory sectorApplication deadline: midnight on Monday 3rd of November.
