Senior Technical Recruitment Specialist | Ingenn
Ingenn is a head hunting company exclusively focused on the search and selection of technical profiles and engineers.
The Partner
We are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to join our client – an innovative Start‑Up in the chemical engineering sector – on a permanent contract. Our client specializes in renewable energy and, in particular, in the research, development, and prototyping of new green batteries and long‑duration energy storage systems.
The Role

Define control architecture: PLC program structure, state machines, alarms/interlocks, communication interfaces, logging.
Implement PLC code and integrate sensors (pressure/flow/temp/level) and actuators (pumps/valves) into a reliable control system.
Support microcontrollers/embedded nodes where needed (gateways, peripherals, auxiliary sensing).
Contribute to BMS logic definition (limits, protections, operating modes, balancing/rebalancing workflows).
Develop test‑stand automation features and repeatable scripts with R&D/testing teams.
Lead commissioning and troubleshooting on pilot/container systems; produce service and diagnostic procedures.
Ensure robust documentation: I/O lists, P&ID alignment, software versioning, FAT/SAT support.
Draft procedures, reports and technical documentation in general.

Job Requirements
Mandatory skills:

At least 6 years of experience in automation engineering (PhD years may be counted as experience if relevant).
Strong experience in PLC programming and hands‑on integration of industrial controls.
Experience with sensors, actuators, industrial communication protocols, and alarm/interlock design.
Ability to operate in field commissioning contexts and troubleshoot complex systems.
Excellent level of English (minimum B2).

Additional Info

Ideal but not mandatory to have gained experience in energy storage systems or industrial power systems (BMS/EMS concepts are a plus) and with microcontrollers and software architecture for modular systems.
Familiarity with remote monitoring, data logging, and reliability‑oriented control design.
