Senior Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for activities related to its discipline within a project or across projects assigned. He / She guides, as Discipline Leader, a group of instrumentation engineers assigned to the project, for the development of deliverables and execution of activities of instrumentation and automation discipline according to the project schedule in compliance with safety and technological requirements and standards defined for the project. He / She reports to the Project Manager and Process Automation Manager for the project related activities, while reports to the Head of Department for resource management.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Automation / Electrical engineering. Minimum +7 / 8 years of work experience in engineering design in Oil & Gas or Power sectors is preferred. Proactivity, sense of initiative, ability to work independently and in a team. Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken). Availability for short and long-term national and international business trips. Main tasks and responsibilities: During project execution, the Senior Instrumentation Engineer's main tasks include discussing project strategies with the Project Manager and Department Head, coordinating discipline activities, ensuring compliance with schedule and standards, collaborating with other discipline leaders, identifying deviations, interfacing with customers, vendors, and manufacturers, providing engineering expertise, checking documentation, contributing to safety and risk assessments, and supporting procurement.
As part of the Process Automation and Electrical Department, the Senior Instrumentation Engineer:
Provides feedback to increase team efficiency.
Assists in developing departmental procedures, standards, and work instructions.
Trains colleagues and shares technical knowledge.
Stays updated on instrumentation design and promotes improvements.
Pursues continuous technical and managerial competence development.
Additional possible tasks: Representing the department in technical meetings, site representation, supervising pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up activities, assisting during plant operation, supporting manufacturer inspections, and contributing to technical proposals.
Junior Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for activities within a project, preparing deliverables, and executing discipline activities under the guidance of the Department Head and Discipline Leader.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Automation / Electrical or Chemical engineering. Minimum +2 / 3 years of relevant experience. Proactivity, teamwork, and fluency in Italian and English. Willingness to travel.
Main tasks: Developing technical specifications, data sheets, sizing calculations, process sketches, wiring diagrams, control logic, safety systems, P&ID design, and system protections.
As part of the Department, the Junior Instrumentation Engineer:
Provides feedback to the Discipline Leader.
Receives on-the-job training to enhance skills.
Keeps updated on instrumentation design and seeks continuous improvement.
Additional tasks: Assisting in plant pre-commissioning, commissioning, and participating in manufacturer inspections.
