The Security Networking unit is responsible for ensuring secure global connectivity by managing critical infrastructure components such as firewalls, reverse proxies, and VPNs. These systems are essential for safeguarding internal services from external threats, enabling secure remote access, and protecting organizational assets.This unit operates within the Global Network Area, which is part of the Infrastructure Operation Division of the Generali Operations Service Platform (GOSP).The Security Network Engineer is responsible for the engineering and support of security-related network infrastructures, including firewalls, SaSe solutions, and reverse proxies. This role encompasses the design and implementation of solutions, software, and tools to enhance these systems, as well as the continuous monitoring of their performance. The engineer also provides advanced troubleshooting for performance-related issues and contributes recommendations to improve the reliability and efficiency of the security network.Develop and provide comprehensive specifications and detailed schematics for security network architectures, with a primary focus on firewall, SaSe, and reverse proxy solutions. Deliver in-depth guidance on the selection and implementation of security network technologies, tools, and methodologies to ensure the most effective and efficient solutions are deployed. These solutions must address current security requirements while also accommodating future capacity and scalability needs.ResponsibilitiesDefines, analyzes and manages Security network requirements for Network project deployments with special focus in Firewalls (Checkpoint, Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto), distributed Firewalls (NSX-T), SaSe technologies and Reverse Proxy (Citrix)Configuration and management different Firewalls technologies at Generali Group levelIdentifies proposal for Security network requirements fulfillment in Network security deployments, supported by CSO area and the other Units of the Network division (accounting for the services that each Units delivers to its customers within the Generali Group)Contributes to the Security network documental framework (policies, guidelines, technical measures, procedures, etc.)Acts as interface for Group CSO areaRequirementsMaster's degree in Computer Science or Engineering ideally in Communication Systems and Networks or equivalent vocational trainingKnowledge and at least three years of experience in Security NetworkingIn-depth general knowledge Network Segregation principles (SGT, etc.)In-depth knowledge of Cisco FirePower, CheckPoint and Palo Alto technologiesKnowledge of Distributed Firewalling based on NSX-TKnowledge of SASE principles and technologies is an advantageLevel B2 in English (spoken and written)Analytical skills, high level of problem-solving skills, goal-oriented work and a strong customer focusHigh level of commitment, confident appearance, strong communication skills and presentation skillsInternational Team spirit and willingness to travel on businessNotes/PreferencesAvailability to travel internationally (Europe), at most 20% of the timeCompany ProfileGenerali is a major player in the global insurance industry – a strategic and highly important sector for the growth, development and welfare of modern societies.
