Company Overview
Space Industries is an innovative and fast-growing company specializing in the design, development, and integration of advanced solutions for micro, small, and nano satellites. With a strong focus on technological excellence and mission success, Space Industries supports complex space programs by providing end-to-end system capabilities — from design and manufacturing to integration, testing, and operations.
Position Overview
As a Satellite System Engineer at Space Industries, you will play a pivotal role in the design, integration, and validation of satellite systems and subsystems. You will work across the full lifecycle of space missions — from concept design and requirements definition to verification, testing, and delivery — ensuring that all system-level interfaces and performances meet program objectives and ECSS standards.
This position requires strong engineering expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams in a high-technology aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities
System Design & Requirements Management:Define, analyze, and maintain system and subsystem requirements in compliance with mission objectives and customer specifications.
System Architecture & Integration:Develop and maintain system-level architectures, ensuring coherent integration of payloads, platforms, and ground segments.
Technical Coordination:Interface with subsystem leads (mechanical, electrical, software, thermal, AOCS, power) to guarantee consistency and performance across all disciplines.
Verification & Validation (V&V):Define verification plans, manage test campaigns, and ensure traceability of requirements according to ECSS and internal standards.
Interface Control & Documentation:Develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs), test procedures, and system-level specifications to ensure full traceability and compliance.
Modeling & Simulation:Support system analyses (performance budgets, mass, power, and thermal models) and validate mission scenarios using simulation tools.
Reviews & Configuration Control:Participate in design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, QR, AR), ensuring technical compliance, and maintain system configuration under control.
Risk & Performance Assessment:Identify technical risks, propose mitigation actions, and monitor performance margins throughout the development cycle.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with Program Management, Quality Assurance, and AIT teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of mission hardware.
Education: Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in system engineering or satellite mission design, preferably in aerospace or defense sectors.
Strong knowledge of space systems engineering processes, including requirements flow-down, verification, and validation.
Familiarity with ECSS standards, space project documentation, and mission lifecycle.
Proficiency in systems engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, Enterprise Architect, MATLAB, Simulink).
Experience with system modeling, budgeting (mass, power, thermal), and performance analysis.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Driving license: category B.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Small Satellite or NewSpace programs.
Familiarity with ESA/ASI project workflows and documentation.
Knowledge of cleanroom operations and environmental testing (TVAC, vibration, EMC).
Systems engineering certification (INCOSE or equivalent).
Previous experience in mission analysis or payload integration.
